Hey there! New Member...

Found you guys by bouncing around and found you interesting. Here's some background on me and my family:

My name is Janet, I'm 48 years old, and I live in New Jersey. My husband and I will be married for 22 years as of next Saturday.

We were told that I was unable to have children and were looking into adoption when I found I was pregnant with Steven. I was 38 when he was born. For those of you doing the math, he is 9 years old now.

Since I was a child I wanted to have children. In my head it was always 2 with a boy first and then a girl. I'm the oldest of four - and always wanted an older brother. Now I can't imagine a family any other way. I'm looking forward to conversations and insights...

Take Care!

I just have one, a 5 year old girl. It's just me now.. and though I had envisioned a large family at one point, now that I'm doing this on my own I can't imagine doing it any other way :)

To each her own, I hope you get your dream family! There are so many children who need good homes. Your intentions to adopt are so admirable if you can :)

(Hard to say anything without pissing someone off. I truly mean this as well wishes :) )

I could tell your comments were well meaning! I don't take offense that easily.

This is my dream family, now. Steven is amazing - and I can't imagine splitting my time with another. Of course, that means he also gets the brunt of the bad days, but I try to control that - or explain WHY I'm in a bad mood. It's almost never anything that has to do with him!

Of course, if I ever won the lottery - I'd consider adopting a whole crew..!

me too :)
And I'd have a huge house with a room for each of them! I think about that sometimes... no boats or yachts for me, just kids :)

The kids might like a yacht...
